The Senior List: A Trusted Path of Least Resistance
…energy moves where it is easiest for it to go.
-Robert Fritz: The Path of Least Resistance (1984)
The other day I was in one of those big box home improvement stores (you know the one) looking for a specific item. After about 15 minutes looking around in a logical location of such an item and not finding it; my search shifted to finding some help.
This took more time, which is at a premium on sunny Saturday afternoons (and a project in mid-stream back home). Finally I found help…sort of…they couldn’t find the item either.
Time: The Unmanageable Master
Like it or not most of us live in the “speed-culture” where a sense of urgency is a constant companion. I once told my wife life is beginning to feel like I’m at the car wash trying frantically to get the car vacuumed before my last quarter runs out. We all seem to have too much to do and too little time to do it.
The Right Kind of Help
There’s a neighborhood hardware store several miles from my home; it’s the kind of place where a seasoned-guy (gray temples) with an apron bearing the logo of the store greets you with: “Can I help you find something?”
Not to be too dramatic, but the Emerson line came to mind: “To know one life has breathed easier because you have lived…This is to have succeeded. He said it with such confidence I knew a solution was in sight, and I began to breathe easier.
Within several minutes I found myself in the checkout line, item in hand and thinking; why didn’t I come here in the first place? They are in the neighborhood, the staff is consistent (low turn over), I’ve had success with them in the past, and I trust them.
The right kind of help can save time, money, and give peace-of-mind—isn’t that what we’re all seeking?
The Senior List
The Senior List is just such an offering. A trusted-path-of-least-resistance, theseniorlist.com is the starting point when searching for quality senior services. Founded by Amie Clark, a social worker, who has managed to seamlessly transfer her desire to come from a place of contribution, to the online experience. Together with her husband Chris they’ve done the “heavy-lifting” for you by finding the very best senior services.
Their list of senior services continues to grow as they strive to help others find trusted solutions when they need them most (that’s what social workers do).
Like the local hardware-guy, they’re the right kind of help…You can save yourself from having to say: “Why didn’t I come here in the first place?” Then you too, can breathe easier.
